About EBOHR

The European-Bahraini Organisation for Human Rights (EBOHR) is an independent international non-governmental organization founded in 2012, in the city of Bern, Switzerland. EBOHR enjoys contributions and memberships of human rights activists  and defenders ranging from Bahrain, Switzerland, The United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Spain, United States of America, Lebanon, Egypt, Yemen and Tunisia.

The vision of the organization stems from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, aiming to support, respect and promote the principles of human rights and democracy in Bahrain, within the framework of international conventions and treaties.

In order to achieve our outlined objectives, EOBHR aims to improve international standards of human rights in Bahrain through active lobbying, including holding the Bahraini government accountable in its commitment to international human rights law along with promoting a human rights culture through mediums included but not limited to media-related awareness campaigns via employing various national, regional and international mechanisms. Moreover, EBOHR monitors human rights conditions in Bahrain, thoroughly documents abuses and establishes related reports and statements.

In addition to the coordination of mutual work with various international human rights organizations, our goal is to create a solid foundation of reference in which the level of human rights violations, including grave crimes against humanity, that have occurred in Bahrain are transparent to both the national and international community. EBOHR also works on training human rights defenders in order to build their professional capabilities as well as attempting to raise public awareness about human rights conditions in Bahrain.

The organization seeks to mobilize the conscience of the international community by shedding light on major concerns and issues pertaining to human rights conditions in Bahrain such as torture, forced abduction, sectarian and ethnic discrimination, illegitimate dismissals, mass arrests based on freedom of expression as well as unjust trials.

Vision:
The European-Bahraini Organisation for Human Rights EBOHR aspires to work towards a future where all Bahrainis are afforded their rights in a fair and equal manner. We envision a Bahrain where its people are able to rely on an extensive network of human rights defenders advocating for justice in Bahrain.

Mission:
Our mission is to support the foundations of what make up human rights by developing an international network of advocates who are willing and able to fully use their skills and experience to help promote human rights for Bahrain.

Objectives:

1. Promote respect for the inherent dignity of all humans along with the recognition of their rights in a consistent and transparent manner, which is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace;

2. Seek to rebuild a society that enjoys fundamental rights in accordance with international law, with the utmost emphasis based on the right to live, the right to education, the right to employment, the right to freedom of expression and the elimination of ethnic, sectarian, religious, racial and sexual discrimination;

3. Work to ensure freedom from torture in all its forms, ensure the right to a fair trial under the framework of international standards of human rights law as well as aid in bringing forth those responsible to be prosecuted as perpetrators of crimes against humanity;

4. Raise national, regional and international awareness of human rights abuses, working to deepen the knowledge of individual, social, economic, cultural, political and civil rights;

5. Strengthen the bonds of solidarity by garnering national and international support for human rights;

6. Update and rebuild a comprehensive database of the violations taking place in Bahrain;

7. Establish and maintain strong relations with the United Nations alongside local, regional and international organizations, activists and individuals;

8. Work on the protection of human rights defenders.

المنظمة الاوروبية البحرينية لحقوق الانسان EBOHR هي منظمة غير حكومية دولية مستقلة تأسست في أبريل عام ٢٠١٢  في العاصمة السويسرية بيرن، بمساهمة وعضوية مجموعة من النشطاء الحقوقيين من البحرين وسويسرا وبريطانيا وكندا وإيرلندا وأسبانيا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ولبنان والعراق ومصر واليمن و تونس.

.رؤية المنظمة تنبثق من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان، وتهدف إلى دعم واحترام وتعزيز مبادئ حقوق الإنسان والديمقراطية في البحرين، في إطار الاتفاقيات والمعاهدات الدولية

من أجل تحقيق الأهداف تسعى المنظمة الاوروبية البحرينية لحقوق الانسان إلى تحسين المعايير الدولية لحقوق الإنسان في البحرين من خلال إنشاء و خلق مجموعات ضغط دولية بما في ذلك تحميل السلطات البحرينية المسئولية الكاملة امام المجتمع الدولي بعدم التزامها بالقانون الدولي والمعاهدات المتعلقة بحقوق الإنسان في البحرين، بالاضافة الى تعزيز واحترام ثقافة حقوق الإنسان من خلال وسائل تشمل و لا تقتصر على حملات توعية إعلامية ذات الصلة عبر توظيف مختلف الآليات الوطنية والإقليمية والدولية. وعلاوة على ذلك، ستعمل المنظمة بمراقبة أوضاع حقوق الإنسان في البحرين، واصدار بيانات وتقارير مختصة بالانتهاكات.

و تعمل المنظمة على تنسيق العمل المشترك مع مختلف المنظمات الدولية لحقوق الإنسان، و انشاء قاعدة صلبة لبيان حجم انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان، بما في ذلك الجرائم التي ترتكب ضد الإنسانية و التي وقعت في البحرين بكل شفافية وصدق على كل من المستوى المحلي و الاقليمي و الدولي. تعمل المنظمة أيضا على تدريب وحماية المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان من أجل بناء قدراتهم المهنية وكذلك السعي لرفع الوعي العام حول أوضاع حقوق الإنسان في البحرين.

تسعى المنظمة الاوروبية البحرينية لحقوق الانسان EBOHR الى إستنهاض الضمير الإنساني الدولي لإلقاء الضوء على أبرز المشاكل و القضايا الحقوقية كالتعذيب و الاختطاف القسري و التمييز الطائفي و العرقي و الفصل التعسفي والاعتقال بسبب حرية الرأي و التعبير و المحاكمات الجائرة والى العمل على ايقاف تلك القضايا و الانتهاكات القائمة.

الرؤية:
رؤيتنا تتجسد في العمل من اجل مستقبل يتم فيه توفير جميع الحقوق في البحرين بطريقة عادلة ومتساوية. نحن نتصور البحرين بشعب قادر على الاعتماد على شبكة واسعة من المدافعين عن حقوق الانسان تدعو لتحقيق العدالة في البحرين.

الرسالة:
رسالتنا هي دعم اسس حقوق الانسان من خلال تطوير شبكة دولية من المدافعين الذين هم على استعداد وقدرة على استخدام كامل مهاراتهم وخبراتهم للمساعدة على تعزيز حقوق الانسان في البحرين.

الأهداف:

١- العمل على تعزيز إحترام الكرامة المتأصلة في جميع أعضاء الأسرة الإنسانية والإعتراف بحقوقهم العادلة والثابتة بكل شفافية والتي هي أساس الحرية والعدالة والسلام.

٢- السعي إلى بناء مجتمع يتمتع بكافة حقوقه وحرياته الإنسانية والأساسية بشكل عادل وأهمها حق الحياة والتعليم والعمل وحرية الرأي والتعبير من غير تمييز عرقي أو مذهبي أو ديني أو عنصري أو طبقي أو جنسي.

٣- العمل على ضمان عدم التعرض للتعذيب بجميع أشكاله وضمان الحق في محاكمات عادلة ضمن إطار المعايير الدولية لحقوق الأنسان وفضلاً عن المساعدة في جلب مرتكبي الجرائم ضد الإنسانية والمسؤولين عن الإنتهاكات للمحاكمة.

٤- رفع مستوى الوعي الوطني والاقليمي و الدولي بانتهاكات حقوق الانسان والعمل على استنهاض و تعميق المعرفة بالحقوق الفردية و الاجتماعية و الاقتصادية و الثقافية و السياسية و المدنية.

٥- تعزيز روابط وأواصر المساندة و التضامن الوطني و الدولي في مجال حقوق الانسان.

٦- تحديث و بناء قاعدة معلوماتية شاملة متجددة بالانتهاكات الحاصلة.

٧- تأسيس و صيانة علاقات متينة مع منظمة الامم المتحدة و المنظمات و الشخصيات المحلية والاقليمية و الدولية.

٨- العمل على حماية المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان.
